Welcome to this page where we talk anything and everything sustainability. You ask, what is sustainability?
People often describe sustainability in different ways. We kinda like the simple definition by (Brundtland, 1987).
Sustainability is the capacity to endure in a relatively ongoing way across various domains of life. … Sustainability has also been described as “meeting the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs”
As Afrika Hub Vacations, we have purposed to adapt to the three rules of sustainability i.e.
Reduce | Reuse | Recycle.
We will reduce the use of plastic bottled water for all our safaris
Whenever we do use plastic bottled water, we will seek to recycle or partner with entities that do ethical recycle.
We will endeavor to use re-usable materials in place of plastic bottles. We have seen this practice work in various Kenyan Coast Hotels who use glass bottles that can be washed hygienically and reused. Most of these hotels also use paper straws which can easily decompose in the event of an accidental disposal.
Such establishments include the chic boutique Leopard Point Beach Resort in Malindi, Turtle Bay Beach Club in Watamu, Chale Island Resort, The Sands at Chale Boutique, PineWood Beach Resort in Diani among other stakeholders.
So here is to a new beginning of looking at life with the future generation in mind.
