Description
Mt Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free standing mountain in the world 5,895 Meters (19,340 ft). Mount Kilimanjaro has three volcanic cones; Mawenzi, Shira and Kibo. Mawenzi and Shira are extinct but Kibo the highest peak is dormant and could erupt again. The most recent activity was about 200 years ago; the last major eruption was 360,000 years ago.

This route is spectacularly scenic. If you enjoy personal space, pace and tranquility, then this would be a most preferred route for you. Albeit tough, its ascent to the famous UHURU peak is easier compared to a similar attempt via Marangu route. Try it out.
