We will drive through the southern end of the Aberdare Ranges about 90km North of Nairobi. Proceed for a guided trekking along the Bamboo forest. The flora and fauna is quite unique and only found in Mount Kenya Region. The hike up the hill takes a minimum of 4 hours starting at an altitude of 2,500m. For the strong-willed, the hike goes over slightly rocky terrain at an altitude of over 3,500m above sea level with temperature dropping significantly. The climb finally comes to an end at Elephant Hill which is at 3,900m above sea level. We will enjoy a bush picnic lunch before descending which is as challenging as ascending doing another 2 – 3 hours.
After conquering the challenge and thoroughly testing our fitness and acclimatization prowess, we will embark on our journey back ETA in Nairobi: 1945 – 2000hrs local time.
